How exactly did Lewis have a better jab? Was it faster in delivery? No.
Was it more powerful? No. Was it more accurate? No. Did he use it more often? No. Did he hook off it as smoothly? No.

I agree. I would have to go Holmes here, (though he is not on the list he did in fact fight until 2002 as mentioned by others). Larry held the title for 7 1/2 years and everyone KNEW that to beat him they had to take away his jab. That jab helped him keep the title that long and continue fighting through his forties and into his fifties so effectively. Don't know of any other fighter to whom the jab was such an effective part of their arsenal.

Well I don't think he has the best jab, but Jermain Taylor has an excellent jab when he decides to use it. Same with Vernon Forrest.

But I agree with the popular consensus of Quartey and Wright. Wrights jab shutout Trinidad, which is amazing IMO.

    Jabs landed:

    Prime DLH: 45
    Old ass Whitaker: 160

    :good

Seriously, others on that lis might have had harder jabs, but no one there had more variety or accuracy than Pernell Whitaker.

I think he'd outjab everyone there p4p, but that probably has something to do with his defense as well as his southpaw stance.

Quartey I feel has a massively overrated jab. It was a hard and quick jab, but it was very easy to read and very predictable. There was no sneakiness or subtleties to his jab.

Wlad is very mechanical and crushing with the jab...I think a touch quicker than Lewis as well as more powerful..and I'm a big Lewis fan. Cheers
