In your opinion, what were the best knockouts ever?

I'm going with SRR's knockout of Gene Fullmer. That was the perfect left hook. Couple that with the fact that Fullmer had an iron chin, and it was an easy choice.

Ah forget it, I can't narrow it down to just a couple.

Here are some of my favorites than are popping in my head

    Ray Robinson-Gene Fullmer 2
    Rocky Marciano-Jersey Joe Walcott 1
    Lennox Lewis-Hasim Rahman 1-2
Mike Tyson-Pinklon Thomas (this combo was insane)
    Manny Pacquiao-Ricky Hatton
    J.M. Marquez-Manny Pacquiao 4
    Matthew Saad Muhammad-Lottie Mwale
    Michael Spinks-Marvin Johnson
    Thomas Hearns-Roberto Duran

The greatest KO in boxing history is Hearns vs Duran.

The calibre of oppopsition, the point in time of their careers and the sheer aesthetic spectacle make it difficult to top.

Duran is generally counted amongst the ten greatest boxers of all time and proved many times that he had a great chin. He was never knocked out by anyone else, not even as a 50 year old light heavyweight.

Duran was only 33 at the time and, on good form, had just given Hagler his most difficult fight to date. Duran vs Hearns was essentially an unofficial eliminator for a shot at Hagler. Reasons and excuses have been offered, some valid perhaps, but Duran was in good shape for Hearns and he was motivated; Duran really did want the rematch with Hagler.

Then there's the look of the thing. Hearns was mesmerising that night; so fluid; he was poetry in motion. The way he moved, danced and turned; the timing, the feints and the way he let his hands go, he was truly dynamic and it was far better looking than any mocked up Hollywood fight scene. The final right hand was technically superb and perfectly set up; it was so beautiful to the eye and yet so completely devastating. This KO just can't be topped.
