Ok, and what country is it exactly that I run. Not America, that's for sure. I am American and have never been to the Middle East, since I guess that's where you think all Muslims come from.

Muslims strongly believe in equality. I have no idea what you have been misinformed about, but we absolutely believe in equality and peace. Islam means peace.

Actually, no, you are not fighting back. You are just fighting. No one is fighting you. I have absolutely nothing against you. I don't know what your beliefs are, but I assure you, I won't condemn them and claim to be "fighting back".

Now that is just disrespectful. Complete ignorance. You know, I don't believe exactly what Christians believe, though there are some simularities, but I would NEVER say something like that about Christians.
Of course, being a Muslim, I would never say that about my own religion neither. Nor would I say anything disrespectful about whatever you believe. You seem to have some grudge against a lot of good people because they have religious beliefs. So why all the hostility?

That is totally wrong. I haven't, in any way, shape or form imposed any belief of mine on anyone. I have only asked for a common respect between people of different faiths. The same respect that I give to others. The very same respect that you seem not to have. If anything, it is you who are imposing your beliefs with this insane rant you have been on. Guy, you are badly misinformed. We Muslims are no threat to you or your beliefs. Anyway, I would like to call a truce here, even though I had no grudge against you to begin with. The awful things that you have said here only make me realize that you have the wrong idea about my religion.

I've never been to prison. What makes you think that we are ALL reverts?

 

I meant "you" in the collective. You, personally, I have nothing against. In a general sense, though, look at what happens when Christians and Muslims stick their hands into the government jar.

Do you think Islamic rule has been healthy for the Middle East? Do you think overly Christian influence — such as our holy war in Iraq — has been good for the USA? Religion and government need to be kept separate, but religious zealots do not allow this to be the case.

In theory, but not in practice. Islam is quite clear on the role of women — particularly the part about their "natural duties" — and at the governmental level has ruined them in areas such as Afghanistan.

Islam may be intended for peace, but when mainstream condemns a cartoon and backs that condemnation with threats of violence, that concept flies out the window. We live in the world as it is, not as we wish it were.

Again, in a general sense. No beef with you, but I'm an agnostic who has become bitter about America's hyper-Christianity, Israel's hyper-Judaism and the greater Middle East's hyper-Islam. These are destructive forces in the world.

I've explained this. It's anger directed at the collective. I know there are lots of good Muslims, Christians and Jews. Problem is, each team tries to impose its beliefs on everyone else.

I'll start to respect religions when they start to respect my lack of religion. I am a citizen of the world and am entitled to my opinion; history speaks on my behalf, as does the current hopeless situation in Gaza.

In that sense, all these religions impose their values onto me in the form of human tragedy. Simply put, I think we'd all be better off without any religion whatsoever.

But to the original post, I do think Lampley shouldn't have mentioned Allah in that context. My reaction was based on some of the other nonsense in this thread.

Religion has been highly destructive to many peoples throughout the world. Hatred of others will exist in any case, but religion codifies this hatred and subverts what should be instruments of peace into mechanisms for war.

Again, history is very strongly on my side.

 

Just a stereotype. People accept Islam because they find it to be the truth. Some people find it in prison, but most find it somewhere else.

 

Religion is the root of all evil.
