Guys, I had to keep the list to ten guys and I tried to keep the names relatively modern since this is General, not Classic.

Yey but you have Monzon and Napoloes was fighting around the same era. Corrales and Cotto shouldnt even be on that list. Why no Delahoya? Ricardo Lopez,Miguel Canto? Id put Tapia and Canizales way higher than Cotto and Corrales. Little Red Lopez,Euesebio Pedroza, Ruben Olivares there are alot of Latino fighters from the modern era that id put above Cotto and Corrales. Estaban Dejesus is another. Carlos Zarate.

Ok my poll's getting ripped...sorry I had to make some tough calls and include some guys that aren't usually included in discussions like these. Just mixing it up like I did with the "Terrordome" polls...:good

I think Monzon and Arguello are clearly better than JC Chavez was as well. Duran was the greatest but those 2 weren't too far behind.

Monzon and Arguello were not better than Chavez. Chavez is a solid no.2 latino fighter behind Duran.

Duran, Arguello and Chavez......imo any of those three in any order is OK with me.

....but there is no question....the list of Latino based great fighters is enormous.

You can put up a top 25 and we'd be leaving a hell of alot of great fighters out.

Actually my top 5 would be
    Duran
    Chavez
    Sanchez
    Monzon
Arguello,Gavilan,Napoloes,Delahoya,Lopez,Jofre are about on par have to think how i would arrange those 6 in order. Right next to them would be C. Ortiz,M. ORtiz,Olivares. I should make a list but it would be hard to seperate some of these guys.

Monzon retired on a 71 fight win streak and it is not like he was fighting cans. He finished his carrer as the reigning middleweight champion for 7 years and 14 defenses strong being fighters such as Benvenuti twice, Griffith, Napoles, Valdez twice, Moyer, Mundine, Licata, Briscoe, and Bouttier twice.

Arguello's carrer is even more impressive IMO. 3 Division champion and would have been a 4 division champion in any other era. Wins over Oliveres, Kobayashi, Torres, Mancini, Escalera twice, Limon, Watt, Castillo, Chacon, Boza-Edwards, Navarette, and Ramirez. Arguello is one of the 20 greatest fighters of all time. Monzon probally is as well.

I am starting to think Wilfredo Gomez might be greater as well but it is close.

    1. Duran
    2. Arguello
    3. Monzon
    4. JC Chavez
    5. Gomez
    6. Napoles
    7. Jofre
    8. Sanchez
    9. Oliveres
    10. Gavlian
