I said HTH, not resumes. Dont mean to go there Sweet Pea but do you realize how highly Taylor was rated in his prime? Very high him and Chavez matchup was like Pac - May today, Considered 1 and 2 best PFP. After Tyson was upset it was unanamous these were the 2 best. A better win than beating Davis was his dominating win over Buddy Mcgirt who was regarded as the Man at JW at the time.

Taylor was more gifted athletically than Pintor sure. This is boxing though. Handspeed alone doesn't get the job done when we are comparing fighters at this level. Pintor was smarter, tougher, had more power, better stamina.

Taylor might have been p4p #2 at the time and for a short while was rated higher than Pintor was at his best but who cares? Cotto was a top 4 p4p fighter just 2 years ago does that mean he was better than Pintor too?

Pintor was a top 10 p4p fighter in an era that was seriously deep and when we look back on both of their carrers it isn't even really close on who was the better fighter. I'll take Pintor's grit, wisdom, power, and ring savy over Taylor's talent any day of the week.

Taylor was very good but Pintor was great.

Rosairo and Taylor were good wins but those were probally Chavez' best wins. You compare that to Gomez or Arguello best wins and it simply doesn't cut the mustard.

Might have the better resmue at 122? Clearly has the better resmue at 122 than Chavez had at any weight. What he did at that weight was nearly as impressive as what Chavez did in his entire carrer.

There is one Mexican you are overrating and that is JC Chavez.

He had a ton of title defenses but like a lot of Hopkins' early reign many of his defenses were against contenders that were buttersoft.

*edit* I wasn't alive for much of Pintor's reign but that isn't the point. I have followed the sport for at least 20 years and have time to brush up on my history. Were you alive during Joe Louis' championship reign? It doesn't mean you aren't well versed in the history of Louis.

Biggest wins against ATG's moving up are better than a resmue where you can make a case where there isn't a single ATG on that resmue he was able to tame.

I've told you I do rate Chavez higher than Gomez though. So don't put TOO much effort into it. But the difference between the two fighters is small.

Arguello fought better fighters and more of them. You really don't want to get into a debate about that. I will be glad to if you would like but it's 4 a.m. here so you will get a response sometime tomorrow.

Monzon is about even with Chavez in the quality and quanitity of fighters he beat. Monzon went out like Elway though. On top of the sport, on a 70 fight win streak, and ruler of the middleweight division for nearly a decade.

All excellent choices...I actually thought Sanchez would get a lot more votes. It's all about stylistic preferences I guess...
