Jersey Joe and José Napoles were fancy with their punches. Both could throw devastating uppercuts.

That left uppercut, left hook to the body combo was a thing of beauty.

Carlos Zarate loved the punch. Gavilan had a good one, too, distinct from his bolo.

If were talking strictly "The left uppercut" Alexis Arguello and Julio Ceasar Chavez SR.
Joe Louis, Ray Leonard, and Marvin Johnson, (But he was a southpaw,) Hagler was great with it also.

Yes he was so consistent with that left uppercut. He had a fantastic punch selection. I really miss that guy. Age can be a MF

Yeah, I've watched a bunch of fights from that era over the last few days, which includes Márquez vs Diaz, Katsidis and Casamayor. It's a common talking point when Márquez is brought up, but it really is true! The guy is a counter, combination punching wizard.

I love watching him figure out new ways to pick holes in a guard (when you can actually see in on his face) and then he starts trying new stuff out. For example, against Katsidis he started off with that left uppercut, hook to the body combo, but then by the third round he was changing the order of it, adding right uppercuts, crosses, hooks ect. it's brilliant to watch.
