Norton versuses Ali. I've watched all three fights and I will go to my grave believing that Norton deserved the decision in 2 of the 3 fights. In fact, one of them was highway robbery. I can't recall which one, though. Holmes also gave a great effort when he fought Spinks, and he definitely should have prevailed in the rematch.
In terms of walking through punches in a fight you are outclassed: Andrade in losing against Kessler and Bute (the first time)
Hands down Tommy Hearns against Hagler, imo. He went out on his shield like a true warrior. He tried to take Haglers head off with every punch he threw.
He was robbed once and gave it all in the first fight but no way in hell he was fighting till the last glout of blood in their second meeting , actually he was just jabbing around and thought he didnt need anything else to do, as mosley was just standing there without throwin any punches , score was a disgrace , fight was so boring it was a disgrace aswell ,
Tommy came out Detroit style with his guns blazing and damn near pulled it off! Tyson took his ass whupping from Lewis like a man. I thought he would have a mental melt down.
IMO, one of the best I've ever seen was Vasily Jirov vs. James Toney. Toney, although plump and not really intimidating looking, was better than Jirov in physical talent and boxing skills...however through shear will, made that fight unbelievably close up until Toney sealed it by getting the KD in the last seconds of the fight. That was a helluva effort.
Another recent one I think of is Minto vs. Arreola. There was no way Minto was going to come close to winning that fight but he took it to the big guy, even when he was practically unconscious after the first KD.
