I agree with him, although I normally score it for Hagler. Nah, I think it is reasonable. My scorecard is this. Hagler: 1,2,6,9,13,14,15 Duran: 3,4,5,7,8,10,11,12 Total: 143-142 Duran (8-7) I have scored it by 2-3 points to Hagler on other occasions and just got this score once. But I did feel Duran did the most effective work, for large spells.
Duran/Hagler was not a great fight and the only reason Duran went 15 is because Hagler fought a counterpunching fight. Hearns showed how to fight Duran. No nonsense and don't mess around and wait for him, use size and speed. Had Hagler been aggresive Marvin would have had a 9th or 10th round knockout. He was getting to Duran before the bell rang to end the fight.
Eubank won those rounds, Watson didn't lose them. Watson struggled with Eubank's foot, body and head movement and untelegraphed punches. Eubank was always just out of range.
