Soto fought for vacant titles, cause he scared Pacquiao and Valero into not fighting him, by scaring them into vacating those belts, when Soto was the #1 mandatory contender to Pacquiao's and Valero's then WBC Titles.

Both Pac and Valero choose to vacate their WBC Belts to avoid defending it against their mandatory challenger-Humberto Soto, because both were too scared to fight Humberto Soto.

    It's Chavez by a mile.

As for second best Mexican fighter I'd say Morales, but Barerra and Lopez are also worthy.

    Julio Cesar Chavez

    Marco Antonio Barrera
    Erik Morales

    Juan Manuel Marquez

    Humberto Gonzalez
    Ricardo Lopez

    Antonio Margarito
    Humberto Soto

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chavez is clearly the best. No doubt about it. Then Barrera and Morales who are very close to each other, I would have no problem with someone saying Morales is better. The comes Marquez, followed by Humberto Gonzalez and Ricardo Lopez. Not too fussed who people have as the better of the two, I just think the Carbajal wins are that good they move Gonzalez about Lopez. Then Margarito and Soto, with Margarito ahead due to his wins over Cintron and Cotto.

dude that doesn't prove anything. Pac didn't fight Soto cause there was ZERO demand for the fight. You must be smoking some good **** if you think Soto stood a chance against Pac. Valero's overhyped anyways, his best win is a Demarco for **** sakes and Demarco will never be ****
