Maybe Frank Tate or William Joppy? Canelo doesn't count since the fight was not at 160

Perhaps he could out point Jake LaMotta. Maybe. Certainly isn't stopping him.

What a fight that would have been.

Nah a big physically powerful swarmer would be poison for Mayweather I don't see Mayweather beating LaMotta especially with no catchweight BS.

As for the thread I don't see Mayweather beating many notable Middleweights without a catch weight clause.

Yeah I'm not convinced that he would beat LaMotta. Just throwing out a name

I'm thinking some more recent guys like Sergio Martinez who moved up to the class, Felix Sturm, maybe Jermaine Taylor who Cory Spinks befuddled

I thought of Sergio too, how do you think Floyd would go against Pavlik?

Good question, Pavlik hits very hard but he is a very basic 1-2-3 guy Floyd likely could predict and counter however he’s also huge compared to Floyd I know size don’t mean everything but at a point I figure he catches Floyd or is effective enough with the jab

These are the best MWs I'd pick Floyd over. Emile Griffith is 50/50.

Nino Benvenuti is probably the most well regarded middle that I think Floyd could have a good shot of beating.

Jake LaMotta beat better than Mayweather… on the inside where it will stay will be VERY rough and one sided.

Holy what! Tiger I sort of see? Emile Griffith was a step up (and really a 147lber) he’s the best boxer of the 60s… maybe Napoles but still, Griffith would beat him up badly when he wasn’t outboxing him at any range. I try very hard to he real, I give Mayweather his flowers he is a great! but he is NOT on THAT level.
