    Steele? Based on what?

I'd have Cerdan, Tiger, Ketchel, LaMotta, Williams and a fair few others ahead of him.

    Sentement. :yep

I'm really only intrested in the top 5.

I'm not up on Tiger, and I've never really rated LaMotta.

If I was to have a fantasy 'super six' as it were, I'd add a 160lb RJJ, and a 160lb James Toney.

My biggest gripes are people not including Hopkins, and remaining adamant that Robinson is number one.

Tiger Flowers deserves a mention and gets one.

He probably wasn't the very best 160lb fighter who ever lived, but he was good enough to score two victories over a Greb that was past his best but still extremely formidable, and to school the Toy Bulldog, Mickey Walker for a good portion of their fight, winning it in the minds of most everyone who saw their title tilt.

Now...with that out of the way....

    1. Harry Greb
    1a Carlos Monzon
    1b Marvin Hagler
    1c SRR

Strong cases could be made for all four of these guys to be considered the best ever at the weight which is why I have listed them in this particular way.

If you're giving Flowers credit for the Walker fight then you should be acknowledging that Greb-Flowers II was controversial with alot thinking Greb had won and Greb-Flowers III a outright robbery with Flowers and his manager ensuring the fix was in before the fight even took place.

H2H, I think he places one or two places higher.

    Over-all, I have him at 5 myself.

    Where would you place him H2H? I couldn't rank him ahead of;

    Monzon
    Hagler
    Greb
    Robinson
    RJJ

I don't think it's underrating Hopkins to have him outside of the top 5 at all. Middleweight is one of the most talent-rich divisions in history. I think placing him at #5 is reaching a little - having him higher than that though, I definitely couldn't agree with.

He is/was a great fighter though and no Middleweight in history has an easy time with him.

His win resume is pathetically inferior to Holman Williams! I warn you!

H2h I don't think he would do exceptionally well. Exceptionally. I think he'd be in very very close fights with the best technicians and I think the very best speedsters/serpentine would beat him.

Personally I would put Hopkins in over Monzon. But otherwise you're reasoning is solid so I can't really disagree that much :good

One thing i take from this thread is that Marco Antonio Rubio is very underrated in this forum.

    Thats all.
