How many were 5 x weight divisions above where they won their first World title?

"There were requests made by Floyd Mayweather, we laid it out and I think they were fair requests," said the veteran promoter. "Gary rejected them, so there's no fight. We have to sit with Floyd and we'll figure out [what we do next].“

    Winky laughably wanted 50-50.

That certainly doesn’t prove anything negative. He was one of the best to ever do it.

It indicates the degree to which they're relevant to a discussion on Mayweather beating great MWs at 160lbs.

    Yes, he was.

I support my posts with evidence.

Boxing has two sextuple division champions (sex as in six). They are Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao.

    Mayweather beat both of them.

Yet he wasn't a 6 division champion himself.

Mayweather had a close fight with a faded ODLH at 154lbs. A better version of ODLH lost to Felix Sturm on a fair scorecard. I'd favour Mayweather at 160lbs against MWs a clear level below Sturm types.

I’ve got you reaching now. We both know Oscar was in better form for Mayweather (and Hopkins for that matter) than Sturm.

Nice try, btw. I'm well aware you're trolling. Not even you could believe the Oscar who had, had 1 fight in almost 3 years going into Mayweather hadn't faded since he fought both Sturm and Hopkins.

As you've already resorted to trolling, I'll give you right of last reply and get on with something more interesting.

That’s a false accusation. I’ve watched the fights. He was certainly “on” in that period after Hopkins when he went back to 154. He was barely over 30 and also beat the crap out of Mayorga if I’m remembering correctly.

If He was in better form at older age, but at lower weight - I think it's good example of what I was talking about earlier, which is fighters not being effective beyond certain weight-range, since their frame can't carry extra pounds effectively beyond certain point.

I personally think Oscar won more rounds against Floyd than Sturm - so that really makes You think. Oscar was still very much elite at 154, but those extra 6 pounds - in addition to 24 pounds He already "climbed through" starting at 130 - was like the straw which broke the camel's back.
