Carnera had 80 fights before he fought and won the title, even if 50% of them were set -ups that's still leaves 40 fights worth of ring experience, the same as that current pretender Wilder. I'm certainly no fan of Primo's but lets at least acknowledge he knew his way around a ring was always in shape and could go 15 rounds at a respectable pace.
Can you say the same about those I named? ie
    Pianeta,Charr,Molina,Stiverne,Browne,Wach,Arreola?
When he won the title Willard went 26rds in tropical heat and humidity to do it, weathering a lot of punishment early on from a faded but still very gifted and dangerous champion, and if anyone tries to tell you it isn't hot in Havana in April tell him he doesn't know WTF he is talking about. I was there this April and changing my T shirt etc 3 times a day, and I was just walking around in the shade.
Neither giant was a great fighter but the premise that they couldn't handle many of this current crop of fat, undertrained ,undercommited, posturing oafs is a bridge too far for me. I see no skills that those names I mentioned possessed that Jess and Primo did not. Seven mounds of overweight flesh without the rudiments of pugilistic ability between them!Journeymen in reality and they have all fought for the title ,one even held a version of it! I've seen more skills exhibited in local pubs on a Saturday night than that bunch possess and better condition and stamina too!

Morrison would destroy Carnera, too fast too hard hitting and he could box too.
Willard would be tougher and if he survives the first 6 rds, might do a Mercer on Tommy.Jess had a good chin and power.

Well, in all seriousness, Carnera and Willard would be at least as good as, likely better, than many of the guys AJ and Wilder beat on their way up. I mean, look at their records. You can't fairly say that Willard or Carnera wouldn't fit right in. It's likely that they'd have been counted among AJ's and Wilder's elite opponents.

I think both would beat Breazeale. Dude's crazy slow.

And on top of that, Carnera and Willard had more impressive physiques

I can feel the breeze from cane wagging in the offending air!

Carnera was manufactured. He was the Valuev of his day.

They were circus sideshow acts. Carnera was a giant of his day and fully looked the part of a mankiller, shredded to the bone. What about every other SHW of the era? Well, were they being pushed and promoted by the mob?

In my humble opinion Carnera and Willard would be equal to or greater than a lot of the names on the above list.

    I don't know.
Jake Lamotta was controlled by the mob. Is he also to be completely ignored?
A countless number of fighters were involved with mobsters from the 30's-60's.

Seems like over generalized pointless handwaving.
