I don't rate LaMotta that highly. I respect him as a fighter for sure but I'm not putting him in my top 10 middles.

Why did Joe Louis bring in Seal Harris, Long Tom Hawkins, and others SHWs in for his training camp leading up to the Carnera fight?

They were just mob controlled, circus acts right?
What place did they have helping an authentic championship fighter train?

Man, that Blackburn fellow really did have some peculiar methods.

Not putting him in your top 10 is a very far cry from insinuating he is illegitimate.

Joe Louis's management was next level.

They brought in these fellas to train with Louis for the Carnera fight:

And they did it all as a PR stunt to cash in on that circus act train.
Y'know, because there is zero possibility that SHWs form the 30's were legitimate talents that could help Louis train for an upcoming bout.

    3D Chess.

So where on the spectrum of contrived, trumped-up fraud to Top Ten All Time Great does Carnera lie?

I can see him saying something similar after KOing a modern SHW.

Louis listed Carnera as one of his top 5 wins after retirement.

Even Frazier was downplayed by Foreman after his loss. Foreman saying: “That thing was his hook?”

    Much further away from fraud.

If all SHWs of the era were circus frauds, why did Louis train with them behind closed doors at training camps?

I've picked Carnera to beat some of the modern heavies but I'm not going overboard, he was still a moderate boxer who lacked chin and real power. Don't go getting all butt hurt like you usually do.
