Irish News does some good articles, other than that McGuigan in the Mirror used to be half decent. Everything else is really poor.
Not sure used to be McGuigan in the Mirror on the Saturday but not picked it up in ages now might have finished. Need to look into the Irish News one for you if thats what your on about. Warren is good until he gets his little swipes in at past fighters.
Yeah, I was going to say this. I remember McGuigan writing an article about Valero a couple of months before he died which was pretty good. I think Buncey sometimes writes for the Independent as well doesn't he? Edit: Valero article here
The Irish News is by far the best, pity its not really available outside the Greater Belfast area. Intelligent, thoughtful and unpatronising articles which are aimed at a readership who holds at least a basic understanding of the sport. A pleasure to read.
I don't read the trade papers that much now, I tend to surf the boxing sites and go on this forum...:yep You pick up far more than just flicking through the pages of a paper, plus forums are interactive and you can discuss current hot topics as they happen...:yep With the exception of Buncey, too many of the boxing journalists are very subjective and don't get to the bottom of the issues... It becomes boring and very opinionated, on Setanta, Bunce asked the questions others wouldn't and got the people in the studio and on the line, it was interactive, it was great... Boxing misses the Boxing Hour and in my opinion for what it's worth Boxing on TV on our shores has never recovered...:yep Rant over...:fire
At the moment none as its outa season. Usually? Hard one Ron Lewis is a good journalist for The Times. Daily Mail is awful read once something about when Miguel Cotto fought Floyd Mayweather.
