Ibeabuchi is one of the most overrated HWs in modern times. His name shouldn't even be in this discussion. Schmeling, Fitzsimmons and the Klitschkos are all potential candidates for the #2 slot. At this point in time I'd probably go with Schmeling, but I expect that when their careers are over, Vitali and Wlad will be ranked higher.
Thankfully somebody agrees with me. ya know I don't even blame people saying LL is the best on this thread. The thing I hate about some of you people are you don't just rank LL the best...You HATE Vitali. Which..doesn't make sense to me. The man fought every competitor out there, most he KO'd (what people like to see), he was never protected, and never even went down himself. He fought with his face all tore up, and was winning. ...Yet people hate the guy. LL waited around til Mike Tyson was a shell of a man to fight him...At least Wlad, or Vitali don't bother. It wouldn't matter if VK rematched LL right after the fight, and brutally knocked him out...You guys would still argue that LL is the best. Which like I said that's fine, but give VK some respect....
You put Vitali above Lewis???? I think you're the first guy I've ever seen do that. Even the hardest of Klit nuthuggers give Lewis his due, jeez....
An argument could be made that Wladimir is the 2nd best Non-American Heavyweight.....................
Ike isn't really on the map because he never won & defended a World HW title. His resumé doesn't include that important stat as far as I'm concerned that rules him out completely.
Wlad and Vitali are better than Lewis. So, for guys who are retired, looking back, probably Lewis. I never saw Max Schmelling fight, but the fact he Ko'd Joe Louis good, pretty darn more impressive than Koing an old has-been Tyson.
