I'm afraid to say you're being slow bro.

I was just making an example of what a modern fighter would have to do to enter the p4p #1 slot. We already know that a fighter can get into the p4p top 10 spot argument because Jones has done it and Mayweather isn't far off.

Kind of reminds me of Jones the way he described it.

you look at a guy like Jones, he came very close to being top10 atg.

Replace his losses to Tarver with wins and he's in IMO

I try to look at skills for HW's and apply that a bit more than I would lower down in weight's.

Want to know something? I think Jones may have been capable of something not unlike that. It's possible. But you got to do it to prove it, it's not good guys saying to me "he's so fast", "he has great skills", I don't care. Prove it or shut it. He didn't prove it and then the chin thing.

This is the other way to do it - i've never tried because I find it to difficult. There are quite a few try this in classic - they seem to favour the smaller guys even more heavily than the rest of us (Something to do with ants the size of cars or some ****). I don't know.

I also have Louis in my top 20.

Or add on a couple of good champions like Benn and Collins or something. To say it's not possible seems to be a cop out.

I don't mean to harp on about it - look, here's what it is.

Jones to me looks like a lightning fast fighter who didn't get hit properly - with no roll or dodge with a proper punch - until he got slow. And then he got found out.

That, plus the weak resume - and it's only weak compared to his own talent - makes it very hard for me to put him higher than 18-35.

IF the chin thing had never taken place or he'd proved himself a bit more with names, bigger weights i'd have less problem with it.

Add Benn, DM, Hollyfield and Tarver III and he's maybe top 5 material. Maybe.

Don't bother. Join me in the "Seperate the Era's" revolution. Pre 1930's, 1930-1970, 1971-present! Different lists for different era's.

I can see where you get it from, I would tend to disagree on the chin. Also I would say people really didnt seem to want to fight him. But facts are facts.

I would say 15 would be as high as I could go. But he only needed one or two wins and delete those loses to Tarver to be in consideration for the GOAT, and that to me show's something truly great.

I used to split it between pre world war and post world war, but I don't feel the need. These men are comparable. It's just a big, big job.

    It's only getting bigger, obviously...
