That isn't true. Floyd fans are the only ones who say that because we say rightfully that Floyd belongs nowhere near the top 10. Let him fight all the best in multiple weight classes and he'll crack it. Jones had the potential to be a top 10 ATG. Guys like Langford fought the best from LW to HW, Armstrong won 3(should been 4) titles in 3 weight classes at the same time, back when there were only 8 weigth classes. Floyd is nowhere near guys like that, or Harry Greb in terms of resume, or Robinson, Charles, Ali, Leonard, Walker, Walcott, etc.
Again, i've taken on a ******* job in that I try to fire them all onto one list. It's hard but it's composite and it's fun too. But accomplisments can be weighed by comparing opposition. Is Floyd's title run comparable to Armstrongs? Let's look, in detail at the men they dethroned. It can be done. But it's hard. I agree with you, but i'm not sending a message. I'm trying to contain information. I did, i found it one of the less objectionable ones.
I agree, a lot of guys will bring to much power and not enough speed at top .1% level. But I have a problem with him on the top of themountain for the reasons i've explained.
I still disagree with your thinking of Jones's chances with Charles and Moore. I see those the exact opposite that you do. I really see Jones beating Moore up. I see Jones outboxing Charles as well, but I think Charles's ferocity is more likely to throw Jones off at stages than anything Moore will throw at him. I see that one as just a bit more competitive than Jones/Toney style-wise. Charles is more likely to hurt Jones throughout the fight, whereas is Moore does it, I think it would be off of a big punch. He couldn't do it Patterson when he was on him all night, so I don't see him doing it to a quicker, more conservative Jones.
Based on the pure talent, not resume. 1. Sugar Ray Robinson 2. Benny Leonard 3. Muhammad Ali 4. Roy Jones Jr.
