I am very surprised to see how few rank Benny Leonard.. He was blinding fast, had incredible defense and a true heart.
You really want to do this again? For the THIRD time?! It'll have to keep man. My woman is back from class (she teaches a martial arts class) in fifteen and i'm going to make her watch the Bourne Identity. But if you want to do it again we will, let me know.
That's right, abandon Jones, there are enough JOnes lovers on this site, become the Armstrong police...
#11 P4P for me as of now. Blinding fast eh? You get that from the footage you've seen or from articles you've read? His speed looks average on film.
He was the best to come out of Mexico, but wasn't better than another Middle American fighter by the name of Roberto Duran for one. Wasn't better than the man in my avatar for two. Wasn't better than Armstrong, Langford, Greb, Charles, Moore, etc either. I rank him around #20 all time P4P. Not taking away anything from him, but you sell too many others short when you rank him that high. And Marciano is even worse to have as a top 5 P4P fighter. Marciano doesn't rank in my top 40 at the moment, though I may need to re-think that.
You know you want to. Anyway. 1 - Sam Langford 2 - Sugar Ray Robinson 3 - Henry Armstrong 4 - Harry Greb 5 - Ezzard Charles 6 - Willie Pep 7 - Mickey Walker 8 - Archie Moore 9 - Roberto Duran 10-Muhammad Ali 11-Charley Burley 12-Benny Leonard 13-Joe Louis 14-Sugar Ray Leonard 15-Joe Louis 16-Sandy Saddler 17-Joe Gans 18-Stanley Ketchel 19-Roy Jones Junior 20-Jimmy Wilde or Gene Tunney. Anyone want to help withthis one? Here's a tentative 20. Well, 21. Any glaring errors i'm sure i'm about to hear about them...
