With Luke Campbell's retirement, who was the best British lightweight of the current generation (2000 onwards). Even though he never won a world title, does Luke rank higher than Burns or Selby?

In terms of skill/natural talent Campbell was the best IMO.
    Burns had the best career.
Selby is possibly the biggest let down in the list, he could fight on his day but wasted some of his prime years signing with Arum or Haymon (can’t remember which one).
Mitchell had some good moments and was in some entertaining fights.
Crolla again had some great moments, he’s probably the one who defied the odds and exceeded expectations.
    Flanagan - meh.

If you mean, "hypotheticaly if we could put all the above together to fight it out at their peak" then I'd pick Luke as the best of them.

Campbell versus Mendez is one of the strangest fights i've seen.

I'd take the Burns that bear Martinez, Katisidis and Mitchell over Campbell at his best.

Burns achieved the most on that list so it's gotta be him imo.

Burns was the best on this list before he fought Ray Beltran and became a shell.

Great to see a man overachieve and give us some great nights.

Campbell is far better than Khan was and what the hell did Khan achieve at lightweight, the guy he bet for that title wasn`t that good, beating a featherweigt like Barrera didn`t mean much either.

Barrera was too small for lightweight and got cut in the 1st round.
