Last night was, in all likelihood, his final fight(Probably should be)

Hes had a good career and fought a storming of top level fighters, along with his gold medal.

Solid career....even allowing for the drug allegations.

Yeah, he was world class amateur superstar and had won a lot of high level championships: europe, world, Olympic games.

I think he should had retired when he turned 37, a bit sad that gentleman had continued to fight.
Definitely he had not bad paychecks already till this age, especially for Huck fight and Klit fight. Russia also pays good premiums for Olympic gold, World championship gold medals in olympic sport.

Povetkin's best paydays have probably come since 2018...starting from when he blitzed David Price.

Matchroom have looked after him well and it's probably why he's continued on with his career.

Time to call it a day now though. His legs and balance are pretty shot.

The problem to calculate this is because not rare cases when in media had been listed minimum warranted base purses.
Povetkin definitely was not poor when he was 37 y.o.

The same Huck fight. While maybe not enough appreciated by western fans in U.S and U.K Huck then was popular in Germany, good tickets seller and interestingly he had some fanbase also from kickboxing fans circle cos he was very good am KBer, really watchable fighter as amateur.
Huck then had period when since 2009 th he was on long winning streak and had been 9-0 in title fights for WBO World Cruiser Title.
He had 8 successful title defenses and was considerably more attractive and sellable fighter than for example Ottke and some other top boxers Germany earlier had.
As for high interest about their fight and how will look Huck's test vs HW boxer, Olympic champion.
Both from them actually had benefited from this fight, even Huck and a lot. Huck was even more popular after this and his fans did not had devalued lad cos he was not able to defeat Povetkin. Povetkin won as majority fans ha predicted and becomed more well known after this fight. Huck too.

Klit is from Ukraine and was well known worldwide champion with multiple belts.
Pov if from Russia and fight was in Russia. Not bad sold fight.

Cos Povetkin was well known in Russia and had fans friendly style, he was popular boxer. Especially after treatment he handled out on Perez. Also he had been ranked in high places by boxing orgs and boxrec, doesn't looks that such watchable boxer had paid peanuts.

I do not see obstacles that Povetkin, bearing in mind that he does not have bad habits might be poor before he turned 37.

    Stellar career.

    Olympic Gold medalist.
    Wbc interim champion
    WBA regular champion
    2x World title challenger

    9-3-1 vs Ring rated opposition

Fought all comers and was winning at top level into his 40s. On top of that with a style not meant to last. He was not a big heavy by today’s standards.
He was nearly a 3x time world title challenger had Whyte not had a rematch clause in an eliminator bout.

Sasha for my money is the best heavyweight contender in 20 years.
