Barrera and Morales were both naturally smaller than Marquez, and Barrera turned professional 3-4 years before Marquez did. That would account for Marquez being able to still be competitive at the very top level today, whereas Barrera is long gone, with three fights with Morales behind him. As a result, I judge these fighters, and any fighter for that matter, mainly by reviewing their level of opposition and resume, and even with Katsidis dispatched, there is a clear edge in favor of the other two.

That win is not enough to overcome MAB's resume.

I agree, I guess another will decide this matter 5-10 years from cause as you mentioned, juan manuel is still at the top of his game and may garner more accomplishments in years to come, he's still "young" in terms of ring wars.

When I said, it's not surprising it's becuase people got carried away by a fighters recent win, maybe years from now they will have a different perspective so give them time and let this so called 'bias' be just like that, a bias due to spur of the moment decision.

Marquez can do no wrong. He gets hit a lot and suffers another knockdown, and yet we still have people claiming his performance was flawless. Haye gets criticized anytime he gets clipped.

    It's puzzling.

    Who said it was flawless?

It was ****ing immense though at his age and past his peak.

I picked JMM and i watched the others in their primes, dont like MAB but respect him and how good he was, like EM and respect how good he was, love JMM and respect how good he was/is

There isnt a lot between the three, you can argue for either, JMM is better on the eye for me, the way he puts his shots together is masterful.

These three are tough as hell to rank. And JMM is putting in so much work late that he is forcing himself into the discussion to maybe soon, be side by side with MAB and Morales. I think both MAB and Morales beat JMM prime for prime, but his own technical ability, and his late body of work puts him in the discussion without question. Not to mention his good showings vs pac.

I can not rank Morales and MAB, I dont know who I put ahead of the other... JMM I feel is beneath them but really, he is gaining hard.

Although Morales is my fav out of these three, easily, and I want to put him at 1, I just dont know if I can put him ahead of MAB.

Damn its tied 45 and 45 between JMM and Morales. Who would have thought a few years ago, that JMM would have surpassed MAB in so many peoples eyes. Crazy.

Marquez' popularity is based on his 2 competitive losses to Pac.

I think stopping Casa, having a FOTY calibre war with Diaz and stopping him, and stopping Katsidis has a bit to do with it as well.

ancient morales gave prime pac free shots for an entire round and still won. barrera and jmm were battered in their fights with pac. barrera ran like a little girl in his rematch, morales fought like a warrior.

morales was struggling to make 130 so bad that he went to 135 and faced a terrible style matchup just to get out of 130. Roach seen this and demanded the rematch must be made at 130. Sound familiar at all with roach making sure manny's opponents are nice and drained?

way I see it, and i am biased, but ok mab and morales had 3 close fights. Mab did better in the trilogy so that is some edge for him but against their common opponents, morales did better and with their overall resume I feel morales has the better resume between the two outside of their trilogy. It didnt seem like it at the time but now with the advantage of hindsight, I think it is pretty clear morales' win over pac is better than mab's over hamed. Hamed was past his best and unfocused, yes mab put on a great boxing display but looking at hamed's last few wins going into the mab fight and Pac battering mab and almost stopping jmm in the first round, the pac win is better imo.
