Here's a comparison of a top notch modern day fighter vs a top notch fighter 40 years ago. Please tell me how you feel boxing has evolved since.

    Montiel

    Napoles

And a fighter from roughly 50 years ago in Carlos Ortiz

 Wouldn't expect ANY other reply. So my reply is:

    LinkS?

I captialised the S on links as you now need to provide me with proof where EVERY SINGLE legit source has now put out an article (and you can't say the RING, if only one writer produced such an article, for example) where they say that floyd is a fraud and pac is the real number 1...

    ....

    ....

Right, thought you wouldn't be able to. Which makes your whole argument about "legit sources" invalid. I know it's painful that the only way Pac could get to the number 1 spot is for the previous number 1 to retire, but it's just the way it is.

And I've even seen some legit sources rank the number 1 spot vacant, with Pac STill at number 2.

    So again, :think

Don't tell me you missed the video of he and his family that he posted? The one where he was behind the camera chanting "Pacquiao. Pacquiao!" for no reason at random times.

I love the wide vision on the best of this era. Especially as you narrow it down to Lewis and Pac quoting bernstein. I will await a link / story stating that Lewis was crap and overhyped then we can proclaim pac the best evaaaaaaaaaa.

So really what pac d is saying is that he sources his atg top 10. In the sense that he correlates 100 top fighters lists takes the averages and puts that as his top 10? It used to be easier to make up your own with your opinion.

Surprised that the posted article did not include Pac in the discussion.

Or did I just miss it?

Pernell Whitaker is the greatest fighter since Ray Leonard.

I agree with most of the comments about Roy Jones Jr. A man of his talent called for more marquee names.

I had a long response typed out, then realized that your opinion was set the second you saw Pacquiao.

Suffice to say, Roach is a bit bitter (Both Liles and Collins turned down Jones' fights, even if he turned them down as well, and Jones beat Liles in the amateurs as well....he skimmed over that), and Bernstein has his opinion. Good for him. Many other boxing writers, including ESPN's, don't feel that Pacquiao is the best fighter of this generation. He isn't even mentioned in the radio broadcast that is directly next to that article on ESPN's boxing page. So while Bernstein may be on your bandwagon, more writers are NOT.

Basically, a head to head comparison of Jones to Pacquiao comes out in Jones favor.
