    My picks were

    70's
    Offense: Duran
Defence: I was going to say Locche but then I thought Benitez, hard one I didnt really compensate for fighter who spanned two decaded sucessfully when making the thread.
Admittedly my knowledge of the 70's isnt awesome.

    80's
Offense: Couldnt go past Iron Mike, its really what he was known for. Jackson & Hearns deserve a special mention.
    Defence: Stick with Benitez here.

    90's
Offense: Tito sprang to mind for me. As did Roy but Tito's more offensively minded approach swayed me.
Defence: Whitaker hands down for mine, didnt think there would be to much debate.

    00's
Offense: Pac for sure but I also thought of Fernando Montiel for some reason, he has a been champ pretty much since 2000, he has been like 20-2 in this decade, majority of them title fights scoring 16 kos against some pretty decent opposition. Power in both hands with just about every shot in the book at his disposal, better than Pac? no way but worth a mention.

    Defence: Hopkins

    Best...

    Offence: Cant go past Duran
Defense: Gotta go with Sweet Pea

Again hard to narrow this one down sometimes because many of those fighters had a prime career that spanned two decades, thanks for the input guys.

I will not narrow it down to 2, unless its definitive

1970's - Offense - Duran, Foreman, Frazier, Arguello
    Defense - Loche, Duran

    80's Offense - Tyson, Hearns
    Defense - Tyson, Duran,

90's - Offense - Tyson, Lewis, Hamed, Jones, Barrera
Defense - Jones, Mayweather, Whitaker, Toney

00's - Offense - Jones, Calazage, Corrales, Pacquaio, Guzman
Defense - Mayweather, Hopkins, Joan Guzman, Toney

Some of the offensive fighters are there for their ability to land and dominate rather than their power

I dont think just landing on people is necessarily to only componant of a good offensive fighter. I think using your offense to stifle you opponants, even when you arent landing consistently is an important part of rating a fighter for his offensive ability.

I mean the way he kept guys like Whitaker & Camacho under wraps, albeit faded versions, had a lot to with his offensive ability.

In the 7 years he was a champ in the 90's only 3 of his title fights went the rounds.

The eighties was a great time for defensive specialists.

About half the weightclasses had truly great defensive fighters in them.

Obviously destroying Blocker was pretty decent because Tito was so young.

Dealing with the unbeaten versions of Oba Carr and Campas is pretty decent, especially the brutal ways both those fights ended. And their subsequent longevity as contenders, especially Campas, proved they were no flash in the pan fighters. Again Pineda may well fall into that category, he went 11 with Kostya and made him look bad, whereas Tito just took him out.

He dealt with Sweet Pea better than Oscar less than 2 years earlier.

Absolutely demolishing Troy Waters holds a bit of weight in my book because Troy was one of the best fighters to come out of Australia at the time.

What really made me go with Tito is that he stopped the guys he was supposed to stop, whereas I think Roy toyed a lot with guys and wanted to show off his defence aswelll as offence. Quite a few of his fights either went longer than they should of or went the rounds when if he had just brought out RJ they wouldnt of.

Only guys that lasted with Felix were Macho, Sweet Pea and DLH..certainly no shame in not stopping them.
