Man ive seen better Knockouts than that on Friday night fights!! Yeah I like Pac, I like Marquez and that was just beautiful. The stance of Marquez, the sudden trigger of that right hand, the angle, the way it landed, the way Pac just went down. It was poetry in motion.
Not really, in this fight Marciano was trailing behind every score card and needed a KO to win and pulled it off by beating Walcott to the punch in the 13th round. It's one of the very few instances the Championship changed hands by a single punch back when there was only 1 Champion and being the Champ actually meant something. The Pac - JMM KO is probably the best of this decade but of all time? No way Jose.
Braddock v Louis def deserves a mention [yt]TD90WfoPvh8[/yt] 7:47 the sound and the way his head snaps back is chilling.
who got kayoed on that fight? oh yeah, that was my friend who got knocked the **** out my my angry mexican colleague. ko1.
recent action given too much consideration I am not surprised that the recent knockout would register high votes, but the truth is if we look at all past ko's it should not be rated the top one. But, I can understand the here and now is much easier to remember than sorting through hundreds of ko's over the decades to try and select one. ONE REASON why polls are tainted, too much current or recent activity bias and likely a bit of laziness on the part of many.:tiredatsch:think
It depends if you only want to include high profile fighters. There are plenty of chilling knocks in lower tiers... Ash sexton vs uzzy ahmed was priceless as was frenkel vs maccarinelli. Also check out Wayne Alexander vs takaloo. An honourable/dishonorable mention goes to this http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=P7Jz0HNgoII Tyson's highlight reel is pretty stellar as is Charles'. Although, personally the most impressive knockout I've seen in terms of fight magnitude and the toughness of the guy n the receiving end would be hearns vs duran. I could go on and on as there are so many... Double knockdowns are always a winner for me as they don't happen to often. Only ever seen a double ko in mma though
I used to be one of them. But after rewatching 100s of hrs of my pops's old 8mms and VHSs, I have to say, that they're slow, plodding and outside of a few standouts, they were crude and featherfisted. How does a 192lb man continuously punch another guy, only 172lbs, striaght on the jaw for an hour without so much as dropping him? Cris Arreola would be a top 10 ATG if he were born in 1930.
