There were some trolls and some who thought that Furys size was the key.
But i dont remember anyone predicting how he would beat Wlad.

 

Floyd Mayweather to beat Conor McGregor

 

Buster Douglas to KO Mike Tyson

 

Hatton had no chance against Mayweather. If Floyd moved and boxed he could embarrass RH and if he stood and fought he could make Ricky miss and counter him all night.

 

It wasn't so much that no one picked him to win; just that those who did so had very little faith in their convictions. There were only a handful of people that really backed him to do it, and I'm not sure if a couple of them were only doing it for a laugh anyway. Fury was just seen as too much of an unproven commodity at the time, and on top of that had a number of embarrassing incidents in his previous fights that many fans couldn't get past to give an honest estimation of his chances.

It's a pick I'm very proud of making, not just in sticking to my guns in the face of overwhelming adversity, but in coming to feel that I genuinely managed to alter some posters' minds through my posts in the buildup breaking down Fury's chances. I don't think I'm ever going to make a pick like that again.
