Dominating two domestic level fighters is not nearly enough to put CEJ in the best current P4P British boxer. If he starts dominating world class opponents that will be a different matter.
I also agree with Kell (puts tin hat on). Genuine think he's solid with very few floors. The fact his resume is poor often makes him a bit of a joke on these forums but on ability I'd struggle to see how anyone couldn't have him in their top 5. He hasn't fought enough world level fighters and its frustrating as ****, but he has pretty much demloished everyone else in his way (Bar Carson Jones) in very impressive style. Porter is a very good win whatever anyone says. I expect him to put his mark in the hottest division in the sport pretty soon.
Fury DeGale Selby McDonnell Frampton Saunders After those 6 you have to wait and see if Khan pulls off a major upset and if Brook fights and beats a top welterweight and if either do then they are right in the mix.
His best victory is Porter and I don't recall that being a demolition job. It was close and Brook didn't look that impressive to me.
It was a good win away from home for Brook but you're right it wasn't a demolition job. Personally I had Brook winning but again you're right, it wasn't over impressive and not exactly a performance that would send ripples through the welterweight division.
It wasn't a demolition job, no. But it was a win that not many envisaged on a fighter with a fearsome reputations home turf - remember how Porter was being branded before the fight. A great win for him, but sadly the only such win on his record.
But to be fair Porter's not exactly the easiest guy in the world to look impressive against with his horrible style.
people see Saunders for his personality thats the biggest problem, hes not marketable, nor can he cross over to the casuals, Pure boxing skills hes one the most talented, but there no excitement, in the ring or out, just stupid one liners that make him look thick and bitter
Brook just because I don't think there's anyone in his weight or the weight above that can beat him right now whereas I think Fury loses to Ortiz, Joshua & possibly Wilder. Imo a prime Wlad flattens Fury whereas Brook beat a prime Shawn Porter who everyone was terrified of at the time and someone who could beat almost any welter.
I actually think Saunders has quite an endearing personality. Doesn't seem to take himself to seriously and seems to enjoy what he does.
Yeah sorry I meant everyone upto that world level fight had been a demolition job (Bar Carson Jones). I think anyone would struggle to 'demolish' Porter and he's beaten a couple of world level fighters inbetween the Brook fight and fairly comfortably too.
