It is considering his lack of SERIOUS opposition. I blame it on Calzaghe's timing. What i mean by that is his timing coming into the ranks of boxing's best. The cruiserweight divison lacked serious opponents. He beat Kessler and Lacy...thats it? Two big names...wow...compared to the HUGE number of big name players SRR wiped the floor with. And the Hopkins fight was a VERY close decision. But even if you decide to give it to Calzaghe, he fought a VERY old man. SO with that being said I dont consider him the BEST EVER! but definitely an ATG...id say he ranks up there with Rocky Marciano...but best ever??!! :bart :nono He comes nowhere near close to Ali, Julio Caesar Chavez, or SRL but ill say he has done some amazing things...
I wouldnt consider him a boxer, but a true American hero :good I think if it wasn't for his debt, he could've ended his career with truly cemented legacy...
