I don't think you can hold that against any fighter. That version of Kovalev would have been favored over every LHW of the past 40 years with the only possible exception of RJJ and Spinks.

Canelo needs to be up there to and the winner of crawford-spence along with usyk and ward are the best imo. You cant really go wrong with any of them.

If Spence had beaten Crawford a few years back I would agree, but I do not believe beating a 35+ Crawford puts him up there with the other 4 fighters I listed, but that's my opinion.

Having this poll without Canelo as one of the options?? Can you believe the amount of disrespect shown to Canelo to not even have him as an option?

Canelo is the obvious pick here, and it's not even close. Canelo has the best win over undefeated Middleweight boogeyman GGG, and after beating GGG was the dominant Undisputed P4P #1 for 4 years straight. He also became Undisputed at SMW.

Ward retired in 2017. Many thought Ward lost to Kovalev and only beat Kovalev because of low blows. Now I don't agree with those accusations, but many fans refuse to admit he ever beat Kovalev. Canelo surprassed Ward when he drew with GGG, beat GGG, then was P4P #1 for 4 years straight. He also KO'd Kovalev out cold, even against a lesser Kovalev than Ward faced, was still a very significant win for Canelo who moved up 2 full weight classes to KO cold a guy that Ward struggled with just 2 years earlier. No one's come close to Canelo's level of dominance, accomplishments and P4P supremacy in the 5 years since Ward retired.

I agree. I have no problem with canelo usyk ward and the Crawford-Spence winner. Canelo should've been in the poll hands down.

The amount of disrespect of Canelo on this forum is inexcusable. I don't have any problem with you picking Ward though. Even though he retired, if you just look at how good he was vs Kovalev, particularly in the rematch, that version of him that night is arguably better than any version of Canelo. But it's certainly debatable. Canelo showed how great he was for much longer than Ward had, but Ward was great as well over a much shorter career. One thing that knocks Ward down a peg for me is that he was dropped and really struggled early on Kovalev the first time. But he really dug down deep and worked his way back into that fight. Canelo on the other hand has never been dropped or in the kind of trouble Ward was vs Kovalev.

That just happened. What about before that? Canelo was the P4P #1 for far longer than any of your options. To not even have him as an option is laughable. The loss to Bivol was at a weight class above his weight where he's Undisputed. Canelo wasn't dethroned by Bivol, he was challenging for Bivol's title, daring to be great at a higher weight class. Canelo's arguably still P4P #1. CBS Sports and Boxrec still have him P4P #1. If he beats GGG, that's a better win than Inoue over Donaire who already had been stopped and had 6 losses. GGG is undefeated aside from the time Canelo beat him. So beating GGG means more than Inoue beating Doniare who already had lost to plenty of people before.

Injury free prime Loma. No one's seen anything like that… Making all those guys quit, taking all those bells with such a low amount of professional fights was insane… Plus he's not a dirty ****er like the likes of Andre Ward.. its Loma, Usyk & Gonzalez for me .. my top 3..

There's an argument for that. Before he lost to Teo many had Loma P4P #1. When he was healthy and injury free, you can certainly make the argument that Loma was the best. But injuries are part of P4P as well. One of the reasons why Canelo is better than Loma P4P over a long period of time is because he didn't get injured. You can make an argument for Loma though, but he was injury prone, which affected his P4P longevity. If he coulda stayed healthy and not gotten wrecked by Teo he would have a better argument. But he should be an option in the poll.
