Not the best performance by far but I really enjoyed Lennox Lewis vs Michael Grant.

At the time Grant was supposed to be the next big american heavyweight and a real threat to Lewis.

    Lennox absolutely slaughtered him!

(2nd round knockout if I remember correctly?)

Yea that was brilliant, HBO were all over Grant as the next big thing, then splat. Quality uppercuts if I remember rightly.

Turpin v Robinson by light years. Ted Kid Lewis beating Jack Britton deserves consideration here too.

It is total bull****. I mean **** sake. It was the same when he was active, he wasn't even recognised as champ at home, The British Board of Busllhist "Control" didn't recognise him. He was a huge hit in New York. One of the best British fighters of all time in my view, and I mean all time.

Yeah, I acknowledge that, it was a world class performance, shouldn't have happened, as Nigel said himself. But watching McLellan getting bounced around like that isn't something I'll do again.

The fight was held outside in blazing heat, with onlyh part of the ring benefitting from some canopy shade. Laguna as champ, and contrary to tradition entered the ring first and took the corner with the shade leaving poor old Ken sweating his bollocks off between rounds. The cornerman was pouring water over Kens head, and then rubbing sun cream in. The return at MSG was also a classic.

Or even Watt, who he beat! He went to New York and was a huge hit there. One of the best left hands in history in my view:

A cutlured boxer and a tough *******. Duran called him "the hardest man I ever met" and never rematched him (Though he did beat Buchanan pretty clearly IMO).

He headlined at MSG on 7 consecutive occasions, because of the BBBC attitude towards him it was a home fight for Ken

i don't get it, someone like sweetpea on here, an 18 year old american kid and he seems to know more than me about what seems to be one of the best british fighters of all time. don't get why he isn't more of a hero here.
