Roy Jones Jr. vs Bernard Hopkins deserves a shout.

    Good call.

How about LaMotta against Cerdan? People often forget, LaMotta was handicapped by a broken left hand in that fight - that fact being overshadowed by all the focus on Cerdan's injury. I guess that was basically "the battle of the one-armed bandits".

Didn't Gene Fullmer fight the last 4 rounds against Florentino Fernandez with a broken arm on his way to a decision win.

    Tough effort that.

Yes...a broken elbow, and he was in such pain, he couldn't use the right arm to block, or anything..he gutted out that win, and makes a point of how damned TOUGH Fullmer was.

Didn't know that about LaMotta...man those guys were tough back then.
And yes, I was quite impressed by Conteh in that Lopez fight.

I remember Fullmer stating that after he broke his elbow in that fight that he didn't dare to open his mouth to answer his corner men's questions between rounds because he so sick from the pain that he was afraid that he was going to vomit. Now that really shows how tough he was. I always thought that this fight took alot out of Fullmer and he wasn't the same fighter afterward.

Good performance from Hop but I really don't think he was injured from that takedown.

Think maybe Charley Zivic deserves a mention here fought his career without being able to extend his right arm fully. So basically could only fight inside with his right.

Williams-Potter - Williams completely disjointed his shoulder, it was clearly out of his socket and was taking a beating but scored a come from the depths 1 punch KO uppercut
Chavez-Morales (Chavez lost but did well with a rotator cuff injury he had early on)
Jones-Hopkins (Jones damaged his hand early)
Mayweather-Castillo 1 (Mayweather injured his rotator)

I remember being impressed with Tyrell Biggs breaking his collarbone against Top 20 heavyweight Jeff Sims and going on to win a convincing decision(broke it in the 2nd) Biggs was only in his 9th or 10th fight and Sims was considered a tough test.

Biggs could have been better than he turned out, i think substance abuse had a lot to do with him turning out to be a mediocre Heavyweight.
