SRR.....For me its always going to be the Robinson vs Lamotta 6..simply because it was the first SRR fight I ever saw, and it impacted me greatly because I was young..I thought I was watching God box at the time  ..There may be better but that one always sticks in my head.

Sweet Pea...The Chavez fight springs to mind immediately as does the Ramirez rematch..But again the one that sticks with me is his blowout of Nazario. I remember because a comebacking Meldrick Taylor was on the undercard..and I recall that I was actually quite disapointed because wanted to see a Whitaker boxing show not an absolute destruction. Nazario wasnt to bad...he had gone 16 rounds with Rosario and had a win over him.

Monzon...The second Benevuti fight would have to be it..but thats probably because Ive seen it more times than any of his other defences of which I havent seen all.

Ricardo Lopez...I have never seen the second Alvarez fight :admin Really need to remedy that. From what I have seen though his destruction of Sanchez was one of the most chilling displays of precision power punching from a guy that small I had ever seen. Just watched the Villamor fight for the first time the other day, that was another good one.

Micheal Spinks...Marvin Johnson and Qawi are the ones that stick out for me. But also wanted to mention the Cooney fight. By that time it was clear Spinks was fading and the knee was affecting his movement but he just sliced up the much bigger and still fairly capable Cooney.

Robinson- I'd have to agree with LaMotta 6 for Robbi, at least as far as footage of what we have, as there is virtually none of him in his true prime at WW.

Whitaker- My favorite has always been his fight with Haugen, and second would be his bout against Nelson. The Nelson bout proved just how effective Whitaker was off the backfoot, and he dominated Nelson throughout, Nelson having very limited success. The Haugen fight was just a masterclass of the highest order. Whitaker was sharper than I've ever seen that night, turning in a virtually perfect performance and completely out-classing Haugen.

Monzon- The first and second Benvenuti fights would be my choices as well. The first showcased Monzon's greater athleticism in his younger days as opposed to his later days in the mid to late 70's. Both were decisive beatings.

Lopez- Probably the decisive beating and 2nd round KO of Saman Sorjaturong.

Spinks- I agree with your choices.

Of course the Haugan fight. Such a dominant display and Haugan was good fighter, underrated by many. He was around at a time where 130-140 was stacked with great fighters so he never got to really shine.
Havent got around to seeing the Nelson fight but after I finish my McCallum-thon I will track a copy down.

Also Pea have you seen that little bit of footage of a WW Robinson on the Tube?

Against Fusari from memory. Was only a little bit, hardly enough to gauge of good he was there.

    SRR- Lamotta no doubt

Sweet P- I would have to say his 2nd fight over Buddy McGirt

Monzon- I agree that his bouts with Benvenuti were his best performances

    Lopez- Saman Sorjaturong

Spinks - i actually think his win over Murray Sutherland was his best performance

I've seen the bit of footage of him that exists at WW, but even the little bit against Fusari and Docusen aren't really Ray at his best, as he's said to be weight drained and toward the end of his WW run in them, and is mostly coasting in the fights.
