caught you out, you lying toad. if you was there as you claim, then you would know Turpin took a knee in round 2. You are a pathological liar, how stupid do you believe people to be?.. Your claiming you saw 18yrs old Ray Robinson back in 1937...which was 79yrs ago. which was before the 2nd world ward lol

Pavlik vs Hopkins was pretty special. I felt Pavlik was slightly overrated. He was receiving a ton of hype but always looked a little awkward to me but I wanted to see if Hopkins could take his power. The opportunity never came as Hopkins put on a master class and totally dominated Pavlik from bell to bell.

Vitali vs Johnson was another one. The crowd was electric after the performance Vitali put against Lewis. Then the bell rang and he looked so much more confident in the ring. Like he knew he was the worlds baddest man. Johnson never had a chance ( didn't help he came in overweight) but I remember telling those around me after the fight was stopped in round 2 that I don't Think Lewis will ever give him a rematch now. And sure enough Lewis retired.

I've watched both Turpin-Robnson fights and as far as I know Turpin got knocked down by a right hand in the 10th, he ended up flat on his back, he then took the rest of the count on one knee.
He gamely got to his feet and tried weathering the storm but Ruby Goldstien stopped the fight with seconds remaining

Burt was born in 1927... so if he isn't already, he will be 89 later this year!

My dad used to box a bit as an amateur, and started to take me to amateur shows when I was about 9 or 10. So there's no reason, why Burt couldn't have seen Robinson at a similar age.

Anyway, I notice you have only been here for little over a year... but if you had read just a fraction of Burt's almost 9.000 posts over the past 6 years, you wouldn't doubt, that he is indeed who he claim to be.

Show some respect. We're lucky to have an old timer like Burt on here. He's probably forgotten more about boxing than most of us know.

There is a 90 yr. old guy I talk to from time to time. He is a sharp as a tack ex Marine Officer and ex Teacher. He still substitute teaches 3 days a week. He shows no memory problems whatsoever. Sure, it's not the norm, but not everyone is gone mentally by age 89-90.

Burt isn't on here all the time. Look at his number of posts in relation to how long he has been a member on here. It's not high compared to some other posters.

    Pernell wasn't a natural 147 pounder either.

    How did you score it?

I would be interested to know how someone who was there scored it, provided you weren't in the nose bleed section of that huge arena :p
