Benny Leonard vs Lew tendler , He dominated with his foot on the inside , Even landed rear hand uppercut counters all day . Who else is pulling that off ,imagine if we also had the rematch where he won every round and nearly stopped Tendler in the last two.

He went to school against Jose Luis Ramirez. Fortunate to walk away with that decision.

I was about to start a thread on how Arguello was a classic example of a great fighter having hell with sthpaws:
Ramirez knocked him down and should have got the dec
Ganigan knocked him down and wobbled him throughout.
    Watt gave him troubles.....
Arguello was definitely NOT teaching a class on fighting southpaws. Lol

Let’s be honest for a minute....Alexis Arguello gets hit a lot ...period ....he was an offensive genius...but not a defensive one

That’s was just an off night for Arguello...there’s no other way to explain it

Tszyu vs. Mitchell II. Most expected a close fight and yet Kostya pounded him.

Jimmy McLarnin had some initial trouble, but blitzing Corbett in a single round for the World Welterweight Championship was quite the feat.

There indeed is a way to explain it:

    1) JLR was a helluva fighter. Just nobody knew it at the time. This was the first glimpse that this guy could be a factor.

    2) Arguello, because of TV and more high-profile fights, became best known in his days at 135 and 140 pounds, but honestly he was at his best at 130 and below. He still had some very nice wins at 135 especially but he didn’t have as much physical advantage at lightweight and junior welter and had to work for it.

Tszyu v Jake 'The Snake' Rodriguez was another example. But best of all was Kostya vs Zab Judah. The perfect way to fight a southpaw? Hit them really hard on the chin. apparently.
