It's a very tought one. Frazier used his the most effectively IMO, but Tua had the most picture perfect closely followed by Tyson. So I will vote Tua.

Hrm. In terms of form, if anyone's going to get this distinction it should be Joe Louis. He threw picture-perfect hooks, right hands, uppercuts, and, well, pretty much everything.

Liston would be me choice for 2nd. He had a devastating hook.

Liston's was just very heavy. Tyson's was quick, but stiff. Nobody was as natural a left hooker as Joe Frazier, and that might go for any weight class. It rolled off his shoulder.

I think tyson, technically , had the best left-hook. His punching technique was perfect.

Are we talking all time greats or just known heavyweights??

Because the man in my avatar deserves a mention in the Lefthook category if not anything else.

Easy to pick Joe, but I'm still doing it.

Some (SOME) would say Cooney had a good left.

Just going to mention Cooney SteveO! A converted southpaw, Cooney carried bone crunching power in that hook and delivered it just about as well as anyone, especially for a big guy at six foot six.

Cooney had a GREAT left hook. But little else. I saw him spar in person many times, and it was a great punch, a very quick, and very tight hook, and he could throw it off the jab. Which if you ever tried it is a very hard thing to do effectively.
