Move over James Toney vs Jim Gray... Thompson is now my second favourute person in the entire universe.
Hilarious! He has been pure class throughout! The singing in the dressingroom and dancing in the ring was great
Maloneys was funny too "Whos idea was it to get Lennox involved?" "...were going to sit down and have a talk."
Mebbe I shouldn't but found myself feeling a bit sorry for Maloney.Obviously even more so for David.Thompsons a far better fighter than I thought.Regarding what he said,I wouldn't be surprised if his wife moved into a different hotel if she heard the interview.Nothing to do with the hip either.
Basically price was blowing out his arse after 3 rounds, he did knock TT down in the 2nd but price just lost all heart had no will to stick it when it got tough and tbh got exposed tonight as being a total hypejob, Fury and Chisora would beat him for sure and dont even talk about Haye
Slugfest, Thompson hurt a few times and knocked down late on in the 2nd, 3rd was a brawl and Price gassed badly from then on, could see at the end of the 4th he didnt wanna be in there.
Price started out tentatively, trying to box with Thompson, and Thompson probably got the first round on workrate but not many effective punches landed either way. In the second round, the fight turned into a bit of a slugfest, as Price threw a lot of heavy shots, and dropped Thompson fairly hard near the end of the round with a short counter right but Thompson beat the count ok and survived the round. The third round Price seemed to gas, as he started strong but wasn't doing much around the middle of the round and Thompson hurt him pretty badly by the end of the round, working Price's body over hard, and causing Price to double over and retreat. Thompson put the pressure on again in the fourth round, and Price was just totally gassed and couldn't respond. Thompson hit Price with something like 20 unanswered shots and Price was pushed to the corner in a prone type position. The referee came over and gave Price a standing count, and it was very clear that Price just had nothing left in the tank at all, shades of Wlad vs Brewster I back in the day. Seeing this, the ref waived the fight off.
nice report, cheers.. ..got a feel of the kind of fight-I hate to sound like i'm saying this off the back of a result but,,,Price always seemed to me like a bit of a "rabbit in the headlights" type of fighter. Not quite in the Audley league but too tentative to be a world class heavy, -although he may get a few shots (post Klitschko's!), and perhaps land the right fight at the right time?- really not surprised at another loss but it remains clear that either Thompson is his bogey-man or that Price just aint really all that, I reside with the latter.:good
