Anyone have any suggestions for pre-1930 fights on YouTube...maybe one of the lesser well known fights (i.e. not something like Dempsey v. Willard that we’ve all seen)? I’m in the mood to watch some grainy black-and-white old fights, and I figured you guys could give me some ideas.

Mike Gibbons Vs Mike O'Dowd is the best film of the era by far but the version on youtube sucks.

Other good ones but I cant vouch for the quality on youtube:

    Mickey Walker-Max Schmeling
    Mickey Walker-Tommy Milligan
Frank Moran-Joe Beckett for the KO
    Sam Langford-Joe Jeanette
    Sam Langford-Bill Lang
    Ad Wolgast-Owen Moran
    Battling Nelson-Jimmy Britt
    Tommy Gibbons-Jack Bloomfield

There are others but that's a nice start

    Gans vs Nelson.

There are clearer copies than youtube's

Gans vs Herman or McGovern are clear films.

Considering Gans-McGovern is nothing more than documentary evidence of a fixed fight its interest to anyone who cares about watching real skill on exhibition is nil.

I thought it a strange choice too.
It's established as a fix,I thought that was common knowledge? Gans admitted to it in later life.
