i'd say a few years ago it was frank ******, but imo eddie hearns is slowly taking over. he gets his guys title shots, regular fights and i believe has enough or more budget than the other guys. big mick has the channel 5 deal which is x10 better than anything on sky sports or boxnation. i would say maloney is a guy to avoid imo.
Fast Eddie for me. The fighters all seem to speak highly of him, which makes a change from the typical fighter/manager-promoter relationship in recent times. He's not the saviour many make him out to be, but he's put some British fighters in some big fights, where they could reach the pinnacle if they won. Imagine Darren Barker's dream to be THE middleweight champion of the world. Not many British fighters truly have those opportunities. Paper champions and easy defences galore, mind.
Depends, I suppose, what fighters are getting the best deals. Also, stylistically who gives the best exposure to all fighters in their stable. Hearn for the better shows, ****** better exposure. But, you have to wonder why everyone is getting on the Hearn train. BoxNation wise, I'd be on ******'s books as a prospect, Hearn's of I was a name. BoxNation could become a feeder system IMO.
It's Eddie without a doubt, but he's struggled to make good fights for Brook recently and Mack as an opponent for Froch is dire. I'd say he's starting to struggle with matchmaking a bit but he keeps getting good viewing figures and ticket sales so fair play to him Basically better than the rest but that isn't hard.
Give credit to Hennessy for getting a channel 5 deal and getting the best viewer numbers as a result. And I personally think the shows have been good. F.W. had the balls to put on the biggest domestic fight of the year AGAINST the wishes of the BBBofC... and of course was instrumental in setting up a UK boxing channel which means we now get most of the big fights shown here on one channel or another.
Hearn is a nice guy, the only thing that annoys me about him is that he has not had to actually graft for any of it. Put any half-decent bloke with a brain in his position and they would have the same success. The shows Matchroom/Sky put on are very good though so hopefully that continues.
Eddie Hearn by a long way, through darts/snooker he understands competitive battles is where the money is. I did read the boxing doesn't make a profit and the snooker/darts subsidises it, anyone know how accurate this is?
