four really good prospects at 140 and potentially 147. so who is the best?

i have to say i've been impressed with lamont peterson, he's seems really mature already and just little things he does that will carry him a long way...apart from making that grunting noise before throwing a punch (telegraphing). an example of how important being mentally mature is because someone like Amir Khan probably has more natural talent and is more of an athlete but far less mature tactically and mentally.

What is with that? Seems like I hear more and more up-and-comers that make funky noises every time they throw a punch. Little short screams; 'BAH! BAHBAH! BAH!'...:huh Is it some kinda' new-***ngled kung-fu? Or are there just more and better microphones recording the action these days? In any case, it sure is annoying. :hand

BTW, out of the 4 mentioned I like Ortiz.

both of the Petersons do it and i think its something to do with the breathing and trying too hard to generate power. However i think they're ganna have problems when they go up a level and slick or faster fighter are ganna use that to telegraph the punch

i like Ortiz too in fact all four are really good, haven't seen much of Alexander though

Ortiz, IMO looks to be the one I'll pick outta the four. This kid looks in good control when he unleases his assults. His shots got some nice power behind them.

Devon Alexanders "HEF! HEF HEF! HEF!" is especially annoying. It's like I'm watching boxing but my sound is listening to a Venus Williams tennis match.

Anyways the perfect thing would be a tournament between these 4 with the winner facing Timothy Bradley.

    Ortiz-Bradley FTW.

Seeing as he makes the sound at the same time as the punch lands I don't think its telegraphing. Lamont actually uses the sound as a feint sometimes to get his opponent to flinch and throw them off their balance and rhthym. Watch him, hes a future champ.

I like these prospects a few champions in there. I'm not sure who I'd put on top but I'd put Alvarado last. I'd probably go with Peterson, Ortiz, Alexander, and Alvarado in order....today. But tomorrow I'm sure I'd have the order switched around a bit.

I like Alexander the best of those four in terms of potential. I like watching Ortiz the best, but I think his defensive shortcomings will get the best of him, and sometimes he just doesn't seem to care. Peterson is good, but I don't know if he has enough power to keep guys honest at the top level, and I like his brother significantly better. I'll throw Vernon Paris' name out there as well, although he needs to lay off the weed. I like him significantly more than Alvarado, who I see as more of a Kermit Cintron type in the best case scenario.
