He beat a world ranked fighter in style. One of the fastest and most highly skilled bout of 2014. http://www.asianboxing.info/videos/ryuji-hara-vs-kosei-tanaka Enjoy video and tell me what you think of the 19 year old winner.
I love the fast paced prospects, couple of fights and beat the crap out of the established guys. At strawweight it's a bit easier of course because the division isn't very deep.
It is a bit easier though a top fighter at 105, like Hara, is just as good as world ranked fighters in most other divisions. We keep talking about how weak the Heavyweight division is but no one has ripped that apart, Super Bantamweight isn't strong any no one has run through that. At the higher weights we have seen Usyk and Beterbiev stand out for what they did and we've seen Lomachenko do it at Featherweight and I'd applaud that trio as well. It's great seeing guys do that. Shame so few other fighters are that confident in their skills to do stuff like that.
The top of 105lbs division is very good. The middle men might be so so but Hara a good fighter and champion are good fighting men. Better division than some other right now. Rodriguez, Takayama, Budler a trio of excellent fighter
Tanaka is fking amazing, but I'm still waiting to see guys like Yang/Tso return to the ring. What happened to Tso? No fights scheduled, nothing...
Tso was set to fight on the Macau 22nd card against a Japanese guy but it appears that fight has vanished
