I think Rigondeaux is the 'best' prospect right now. But others such as Andrade, Korobov, Lara all look special.
No ****!! He just doesn't look like a prospect. He looks like a fairly well seasoned pro, BUT, we'll have to see what happens when he fights someone who actually has some blood pressure and a heart beat. So far, so good.
Goerge groves, frankie gavin, kell brook will all be P4P fighters in a few years... maybe even degale
You'd be lucky if even one of those (Gavin) makes it into the top 20 p4p over the next few years. You are certainly a glass half full person anyways.
It seems a bit strange to call Rigo a prospect when he's 29 but if he qualifies, then yeah. Korobov and Lara are two that seem destined for the top. I'd like to see Koborov step up the competition soon - when you have the level of amateur experience he has, you're wasting your time fighting club-fighters. Andrade and Benavidez are another two I'll definitely be keeping an eye on.
At 27 and 18 fights I don't know if he could be classified as a "prospect" but Golovkin is destined to be successful. The Middlewight division will be the best division over the next few years. So many prospects coming through and you have the likes of Paul Williams who will inevitably move up to it.
Best pro prospect of under 10 fights? Vasyl Lomachenko. Even if he waits until after London to turn pro, he'll still only be 22 or so. Sure, he hasn't turned pro yet, but I stand by my prediction that when 2020 rolls around, he will have been the fighter of the decade. Jose Benavidez Jr. is another one worth mentioning. I'm blown away by him, and that doesn't happen too often. Too early for me to tell if he's the "best" prospect (i.e., he's so young that there's just no way to tell how his body will develop), but the tools are there for him to win belts from 140 - 160. A lot of other good shout outs so far. Korobov, Henry, Gavin, Lara. Groves and Russell Jr. may deserve a mention as well. Alonso Lopez also looks pretty good, although it's hard to tell if he might peak early. It seems like his skills are well developed for a kid his age, but he doesn't have as much pure talent as the other guys I've mentioned. Rigondeaux is overrated as hell though, IMO. Very amateur style where he seems to have trouble pulling the trigger a lot of the time, and he's already probably past his prime. He doesn't look as quick now as he did before defecting. I like Pulev, but he's old too. Fortunately for him, heavyweights tend to have much later primes than bantamweights. Could also throw Helenius in there, he just beat Brewster in his 9th pro fight, although I don't personally see him amounting to much.
I thought he was joking about the Elvis boxing movie. I had no idea there was even a real fighter named Kid Galahad until I just looked it up.
