He's really not very good, sadly. Low workrate, poor stamina, was lucky to come out with a win in his last fight.
HW - Povetkin (long-term I like Tor Hamer) CW - Alexeev LHW - Kuziemsky SMW - Dirrell MW - Jacobs or Golovkin (though I also like Fernando Guererro a lot) JMW - Matirosyan or Angulo WW - Not much to see here JWW - Ortiz LW - Peterson SFW - Gamboa FW - Mikey Garcia BW - Abner Mares Below that, can't say too well just cause prospects at the lowest weight classes don't make it on TV much. 140, 154 and 160 have loads of talent coming up though.
Tor Hamer was the US national golden gloves champ this year. Just turned pro. Didn't bother trying out for the Olympics. Great movement for a big man, good power, good technical foundation. He has a lot of the things I like to see in a young fighter, and he moves as well as, if not better than, any heavyweight around today. Of course he's still fighting four rounders at this point, so stamina and chin are major question marks, but assuming he's sufficient in those regards, I like what I see. He's on the small side, but better fighters should be able to use that to their advantage. Haven't seen much of Kell Brook, so I can't say. Problem with prospects is that they almost never fight outside their home country, so you usually won't see their fights unless you actively seek them out. Kell Brook might be fantastic, but I can't say I've seen him. I need to check out him and Appleby at some point.
Thanks for the contribution to the thread, Brick. I'll keep my eyes peeled for Hamer, and some of the others you mentioned.
154- Alfredo Angulo 160- Gennady Golovkin, Matvey Korobov 168 - Andre Dirrell, Danny Jacobs 175 - Tavoris Cloud, Beibut Shumenov Cruiser - Alexeev Heavyweight - Povetkin, Solis The only cutoff I had was that the fighter have fewer than 20 fights.
