earlier this year, in the 8th (or was it 9th) round of rafael - israel III, marquez landed a sick right hand that resonated throuhout the venue. vasquez took it well, despite being hurt.

Yeah, I know which one you mean with Ike. I thought Byrd was getting carried out the ring for sure when he went down.

****ing Ike Ibeabuchi, its like theres a curse on the HW division. He'd probably have been unifed champ if he hadnt went mentally ill.

In round one of the Hagler vs Hearns fight, Tommy Hearns landed his money punch on Hagler and it had 0% effect on Marvin. I recall seeing an interview of Many Steward saying he knew right then and there that the fight was over because Tommy, with all of his power, and with the same punch that laid out Roberto Duran, couldn't even phase Hagler.

nice call. has'nt been mentioned yet. that right hand landed clean on the temple in the first 30-45 seconds of the first. that kind of buzzed hagler for a couple of seconds, but did'nt really hurt him. that punch would have hurt or KO'ed most MW's. he also landed more right hands, some that are hard to notice, when both were trading. hagler just walked through them. hearns got him with lefts hooks (imo hearns had one of the best ever) as well while hagler pressed. hagler walked through them too. the cut on hagler's temple was from one of those right hands i believe.

Im thinking that the right hand thrown by Juan Laporte against Barry McGuigan in the 8th or 9th round was pretty fierce, the force lifted McGuigans left leg of the deck,if Laporte had landed another history may have been changed.
Great shot and McGuigan answered a few questions that night.

Years later I saw Hearns in an interview say that Marvin's head was like cement. He couldn't believe how hard his head was or how he couldn't hurt him.

definately the picture perfect left hook joe frazier landed on ali that put down, that wouldve knocked out just about every fighter in history in my opinion apart from ali and maybe one or two other fighters, to get hit like that late in a grueling punishing and tiring match would finish just about any1
