best punch to combat a southpaw?

    I'm sure many ex boxers will tell you many different things.IMO the jab is first and foremost the most effective,but the straight right (as already stated) thrown whilst moving to your left (opponents right) is a safer option than any punch thrown with your left hand.In theory you should be out of range of your opponents left (power) hand and should also neutralise his lead right.

    Depends on the South Paw but traditionally its the striaght right hand.

    Hopkins variety of right hands. I'd hate to fight Hopkins as a Southpaw.

    lead straight rights and hooks.

    I'm a southpaw and boxed for about 5 years when I was a kid and would get caught by these punches from guys both faster and slower than me. Timing will be everything for Hatton.
