Of these 3 power punchers from Puerto Rico who do you think was the best overall puncher in their respective weight class? Who had the most devastating power in your opinion?

Really tough one to call. :think

I would lean towards Gomez in his intial championship weight class 122. He was awfully devastating. Not that Trinidad wasn`t at 147. Not much to choose from there. Both ahead of Rosario in my opinion.

Rosario, I'd say, though he was the lesser of them all as an overall fighter. Gomez is not in the same league as the other two shot-for-shot. He was more of an accumulation puncher. A hard puncher, of course, but not in the league of the other two.

Since you're asking about "devastating power": Trinidad, Rosario and then Gomez at a distant third. I'd probably put Wilfredo Vasquez Sr. above Gomez too.

Rosario may have topped Gomez with single shot power, as well as Trinidad, but he was a lot less effective in his offense as Gomez and Tito....A lot like the difference between Max Baer and Joe Louis. Of the three, I'd say that Gomez was the most effective puncher of the three,...more so than Felix as well.

I thought they were all pretty amazing punchers. But If I had to pick I might lean towards Gomez.. Narrowly.

He was ultimately the most dangerous, and far more talented than Edwin or Felix....plus he had a sadistic side that they didn't have to go with the talent.

Yeah, if the question had been "most effective puncher" or best overall boxer then it would clearly be Gomez. But since OP is asking about the most powerful puncher, Gomez is clearly last on that list.

Oddly re-reading the op he does ask that. Rather he asks two questions; who was the best overall puncher and who was the hardest. So Gomez is a reasonable answer.

Edwin. And he had the talent, just somewhat threw it away.
