Floyd is not a pure boxer. Floyd is a freak of nature. He is unorthodox and skilled beyond the realm of a pure boxer. You have to think Mijares type. The guys that dont get fancy and are fundamental. Like a Cory Spinks.

 

Dawson is also one of the best pure boxers.

 

Floyd is the best BOXER in general by a mile. Calzaghe is a farrrrr second. He never stepped outside 168 and challenged bigger stronger opponents. Floyd has. lol.....

 

Floyd is unorthodox by common boxing technique, but is still very technical, just chooses to emply a shoulder roll/Philly Shell type defense over the preferred method. Floyd is the example of a pure boxer.

He also clearly outrates someone like Calderon.

 

I appreciate Floyd's skills, but admire JMM's more.
