Who has the best résumé since the late 70s ish? (Modern Era)
I think it comes down to these 7

    Sugar Ray Leonard
    Lennox Lewis
    Evander Holyfield
    Floyd Mayweather
    Manny Pacquiao
    Roy Jones Jr
    Canelo

Out of which I'd pick Sugar Ray Leonard, who beat Marvin Hagler (at MW, coming out of retirement who admittedly was past it but still had almost every advantage), prime Wilfredo Benitez, prime Tommy Hearns and a prime Roberto Duran.

Pacquiao. Dude has 2 storied careers—one in the lower weights that already punched his ticket to the boxing HOF and ATG status and one in the higher weights of which it is still being written. I think Pacquiao fights Keith Thurman and then Spence/Porter winner.

It's between Pac and SRL for me....Pac has more depth along with top end wins like MAB I, but man, Sugar has some incredible names on the top. I think I'll edge it to Pac overall since he's still fighting at a championship level over 20 years since he won his first world title.

Floyd's resume can get underrated, but I like the lower weight wins Pac had better.

Overall I'd say Pacman, especially if you don't contextualize some of his best wins by factoring in that Oscar was more or less shot, that Hatton was on the slide etc. Even still, his wins against the Three Amigo, his big streak in the upper weight classes, and the handful of meaningful wins he's had since his seemingly career-ending loss to JMM are pretty legendary. Plus he'd had some other strong wins sprinkled in, like against Ledwaba, Jorge Elicier Julio etc.

SRL had a much more truncated career, so his overall resume is less crammed, but he has some of the legendary wins of his era. Beating Tommy, Benitez, Duran, and Hagler (whoever you thought won, it was waiffer thin) are legitmately all time great feats, wins that are at least comparable with Armstrong vs. Ross, Robinson vs. Olson III & IV, Tiger vs. Torres I, Charles vs. Moore III...you get the point. He also had outstanding wins over Kalule, Lalonde, and my personal GOAT kayo, against poor Davey Boy Green.

But if you subtract points of losses, then it's PBF. I really think its between those three. No disrespect to Holyfield or Lewis.

Manny didn`t beat fighters as good as Hearns, Benitez or Duran.

Leonard. I feel GGG is better than anyone the other boxers here fought but Canelo didn`t beat him, despite looking great in the rematch.

I think the longevity of Pac, Mayweather, and Duran is better than Leonard’s highs in a comparably short career.

This is well put, I'd have Pac as 3rd, after Mayweather. But I can see either being switched, but I think it's clear as day who's wins are better if the aren't in context, Mayweather has Canelo and Pacquiao himself as well as Del a Hoya and Mosley but if not then it's very close

Its quality over quantity. If its quantity then Hopkins is the GOAT.

Pacquiao's the only one to give up a significant size advantage to almost every opponent over a period spanning almost a decade.

I think Duran is up there, Leonard win is one of the best ever, no bull****, prime for prime he beat a bigger guy. Then you got the likes of Marcel , Buchanan and Esteban De Jesus, who are great fighters too.

Please refer me to the authority stating that depth of resume doesn’t count.
