Pretty simple premise: what are some cases where a fighter bounced right back from a kayo defeat by winning his next fight in impressive fashion? Losing by kayo is a major mental hurdle for most fighters to overcome, which is so many boxers tiptoe back into the mix with a tune up or even several soft touches in order to build up their confidence. So what are some cases of a guy going right back into the mix with a big victory after being flattened? Here's what I have so far: * Bobo Olson bounced back from consecutive kayo losses to Sugar Ray by outpointing Joey Maxim * Hozumi Hasagawa lost by TKO 4 (jaw was broken as well) against Fernando Montiel but then moved up two divisions to win a title by outpointing Juan Carlos Burgos for a title * Floyd Patterson vs. Ingo I know you guys will impress me.
George Foreman vs Ron Lyle: Foreman didn't fight for 15 months after Rumble in the Jungle. When he did return, he fought one of the most dangerous heavyweight contenders around- Roy Lyle (ranked #3). Lyle was coming off an impressive KO over Earnie Shavers. Foreman came back like a badass. Archie Moore vs Jimmy Bivins: Moore was KO'd in the first round by Leonard Morrow. 26 days later, he beat Jimmy Bivins. A recent one would Sergey Kovalev vs Eleider Alvarez II. Kovalev was the WBO light heavyweight champion. In his 2nd title defense (2nd reign), he was dropped three times in the 7th round and stopped by the 5-1 underdog Alvarez. Kovalev went for the rematch clause and put on a performance of a lifetime at the age of 36. This would be similar to Bob Montgomery vs Wesley Mouzon II. In the first fight, Mouzon knocked Bob out in the 2nd round. 3 months later, Bob knocked Mouzon out in the 8th round.
