It was also Shavers' and his trainers own fault aswell. Ali was hurt and Shavers said that he realised it but due to his poor stanima his trainer's had ingrained it into him that he would probably have to go the distance because of Ali's good chin so they told Shavers not to go gung-ho if he hurt Ali early. To this day he still says he regrets not going in for the kill.

A lot of fans complain about it but i think holding and maybe even taking a knee if your brains are scrambled is a smart move. It can stop an imminent KO and help you regain your senses and come back to possibly win. It might not be what a "warrior" would do but it is smart and can help you win.

Well, a good example of taking a knee when it was wise (and never mind the warrior stuff) would be Liakhovich vs Brewster.

Took the knee at the right time to buy himself a little recovery, and was still able to fight back hard for the rest of the fight.

He seriously should've considering doing the same thing against Briggs, rather than shipping blows against the ropes and slowly toppling backwards through the ropes.

Only fools would complain, it's to basically save your life, why not do it? If you take the 8 count, not stay down there and quit, that is.

Typical Ali. Heart, balls and guts. And typical Bernard Hopkins is clinching his opponent like a Philadelphian Prostitute clutching her pimp to avoid getting bitchslapped.

Dude this wasn't the typical Trinidad flash knockdown. I have seen every single fight of Tito's career. he was seriously hurt, his legs were gone and his eyes were glazed. At the very least he would have gone down again.

he got up in less than a second if his legs were gone he wouldn't have gotten up like no problem. If he was truly hurt he would have at least wobbled and he didn't. His eyes were a bit glassy but Everytime you get knocked down or buzzed your eyes get glassy. It doesn't mean you're about to get KO'd. Tito's legs were fine.

Ali had an awesome and under-rated chin.

But how did you manage to work the great BHop into this post ?

And how do you know so much about Philly whores, Jack?

    The voice of experience ?

I thought Ray Mercer against Holyfield, he was hurt so badly and even though he prided himself on being that iron jawwed monster he took the knee to get himself together..

    Hector.

    Macho.

    Camacho.

That dude will do anything just to not get knocked out. Wont even care if the crowd starts booing him.

He wont let himself get knocked out.
