Foreman takes it because of him regaining the championship. However, a few of Foreman's "official" wins were a bit controversial. Stewart, Schultz and Savarese could've all been losses while the Moorer win was a miracle. Holmes had a controversial win over Maurice Harris who was just coming into his own at the time. But he struggled far less with his opposition than Foreman did with his opponents.

Let's face it, Holmes only came back by impersonating the Foreman route: pile up wins over ham and eggers then get a win over a Top 10 opponent to earn that title shot. He saw how easy it was and duplicated the process to a TEE. Foreman was the first to make a comeback AND made more noise by calling out Mike Tyson. Holmes was still fresh in everyone's mind after losing to Tyson where Foreman hadn't lost since the late 70's.

The win over Moorer gives Foreman the clear cut advantage here.

Its not close, Foreman by far.

Foreman is his second comeback KO'd Cooney in 2 rounds, Stopped Cooper, stopped Coetzer, Gave a prime Holyfield a great fight, Beat Alex Stewart when he was one of the top heavyweights, Lost a relatively close fight to a good fighter Tommy Morrison, Then beat a good champion Michael Moorer by KO to regain the world title. After that he shoud've had four wins in a row he beat Axel Schultz and Lou Savarese, who both weren't bad in close decisions, he deserved the decision vs Shannon Briggs another good fighter.

While Holmes had a great win over Ray Mercer. If you ask me that fight ranks amongst Holmes best wins period.Mercer was a really tough dude and in his prime, Holmes really boxed a masterpiece. After that he gave a good account of himself against Holyfield in an okay fight for the heavyweight title. Foreman's fight with Holyfield was better overall IMO and I think Foreman gave Holyfield the tougher fight. After that he'd put together a couple wins over a whos who of journey men highlighted by wins over Jose Ribalta and Jesse Ferguson before challenging Oliver McCall for his title. Holmes almost won the fight, McCall didn't look good at all but still won. After that Holmes would continue on for a while actually getting a good win against Maurice Harris and a bad loss to Brian Nielsen.

Overall by comparison I don't think their come backs where even close. Holmes come back was good but Foreman's was the ultimate comeback and I don't know if anything like it will ever be done.

    George Foreman.

The only thing Holmes had on Foreman was the fact that he beat a legitimate ranked boxer (Mercer) to earn the shot at Holyfield.
That's more than cancelled out by Foreman beating a legitimate champion in Moorer.
